Denver City Heritage Museum
The dream of the late Hazel Akin and Billy Ray Moore, the Denver City Heritage Museum began in 1984 in one room of the former elementary school. It was incorporated on March 11, 1985, and as interest and the number of donated artifacts grew, the Museum was moved in 1991 to the east end of the building and given five showrooms, a quilting room, storage room and office. As interest grew and the condition of the building began to be a concern, a new independent site was erected in the fall of 2015 at 117 N. Ave B. Yoakum County Park
As the largest park in the county, Yoakum County Park is located approximately six miles north of Denver City on Highway 214. Donated in 1964 by Gene H. Bennett, the park covers 200 acres, including the golf course. Here you find a shady retreat perfect for a picnic for any size group. Playground equipment is handy for the youngsters and barbecue grills are available for your cookout. The park also includes two softball fields, a duck pond and several water features through the park and golf course.
Yoakum County Golf Course
Although Yoakum County is located in a semi-arid part of the lower Texas Panhandle, the city is fortunate to have a well-manicured 18-hole championship golf course that offers an enjoyable game of golf to any level of player. Located approximately 6 miles north of Denver City on Highway 214, the course was established in 1965 and developed as a 6,600-yard plus, par 71 course, offering year-round play. Holes complement the natural lay of the land and feature. Learn more
